confession

I feel the need to confess here that I went to a little store called Chapters yesterday with a $10 coupon and went slightly crazy. When I thumped them down at the cash, I was informed my coupon expired two days ago. But I couldn't put any of them back after I had carried them around, envisioning myself by the fire reading them. So I took them all. Shamelessly decadent. I have now banned myself from going again - at least until I've read these.

And while I'm confessing, I have now missed two weeks of swimming practice. You know that commercial with the woman who wakes up with a cold but takes Tylenol and goes to the pool anyway? That's not me.

I know this has nothing to do with outdoor adventure, but is there interest in a short review of any of these books after I've read them?

I have definitely had those moments of weakness at the bookstore, after which I come home and look at my already-stuffed-full bookshelves and shake my head. But we can't help loving books, right?
I just bought ICE the other day and am excited to start reading it tonight. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it (and on any of the other books). :-)

You haven't read THE HUNGER GAMES yet! Oh, you are in for a treat. I have several of the others on my to read list so I'd love to hear what you think of them.

Hope you feel better!

What no swimming for 2 weeks!
What is your dedicated partner going to think of?

Oh, I imagine she will just laugh and tell you she hasn't even started training yet and is not concerned.... yet! until she tries to do a 200 fly and does not make it. Then you will see a very grumpy swimmer.

Thanks for coming by my blog earlier.

So you're finally admitting you have a problem eh? Me too! I don't dare go online or join a book club lest I end up living on the streets trying to build a shelter out of said books.
Yes, I would like to hear what you have to say about these books. I would especially like to hear your thoughts on the Road when you get done. I read it a while ago and didn't get the cool dust jacket you have. I don't know that I could handle seeing the movie.

Please post your reviews! Really interested in your take on The Road. Critics state the movie is great but bleak, bleak, bleak!

I've only read two of your eight (The Hunger Games and The Forest of Hands and Teeth). This that the Cormac McCarthy that is apocalyptic? Meant to read that one, but the cover doesn't seem to fit with my memory. :)

Deal. I'll post mini reviews once I've read them. Thank you all for your input! Good to know I'm not alone with my book problem.
