adventure plans

With the weather so warm, my mind is wandering ahead to when we can once again dip our blades into the smooth surface. Last year at this time, we began training for our circumnavigation of Manitoulin Island - the worlds largest freshwater island.

Check out our food prep here and our gear prep here.

Picture of me off Barrie Island 5:30am day 3 of Manitoulin Expedition.

This year our plans, (little less daunting, but just as exciting) include:
  • circumnavigate Cockburn Island
  • circumnavigate Phillip Edward Island
  • kayak with the iceburgs off Newfoundland
  • hike Gros Morne National Park
What adventures do you have planned?

Wow. Circumventing Manitoulin Island? If I make it up the highway to the cottage I consider that an adventure. Can't wait to hear about the trip!

The only adventure I have planned for the future is to find that illusive agent willing to sign me up!

Enjoy your trip and take care. Your life sounds so exciting :)

You are adventurous! And that looks like it takes a lot of planning!
We may go to Ohio in a few weeks to go to a few museums and visit family!

Um...
I have an interview tomorrow.
Then I plan to circle my computer a few times and stake out a good campsite in my office. LOL

woodwork - we did that trip last summer. And we didn't die! But very close. I'm still trying to get the story in a magazine.

Wendy - I'm on that same adventure!

Kelly - Visiting family is always an adventure.

Jemi - Manitoulin Island seems even bigger when you're in a kayak!

Oh my, my adventures would never compare to yours. Unfortunately, I don't really have one planned in the near future. At the moment it's an adventure trying to walk through my house without tripping over something.

That is adventurous! It sounds oh-so blissful. My big plans for adventure are... um... guess I'd better think of some! OH! A trip to Goblin Valley this spring. :D

The iceburg kayaking sounds amazing! Sadly, I'm househunting this summer, so no adventures for me beyond the utterly domestic. I'll live vicariously through yours!

We definitely want to get some kayaking in - probably not as much as you though!

Everything is so beautiful at your blog! Your adventures sound spectacular. I'm on the March manuscript revision adventure at the moment but looking forward to spring and adventures outside my mind!

You have some amazing adventures planned! I wish I could say we had some planned as well, but we don't yet. I hope part of our adventures involves an extended sea kayaking trip in Prince William Sound. We'll see!!

The photo was very Discovery Channel beautiful!!!

I plan to shower, throw some clothes on, pack my purse up and head over to Walmart at 6 am tomorrow....IF all goes well.

My big adventure days are over because I can no longer get around easily, but I shall live vicariously through you. So make sure you post about the things you do for benefit of folks like me, okay?

Your summer plans sound fabulous. We too are headed to NFLD to hike Gros Morne and hopefully see and kayak with icebergs (hopefully there will still be some at the end of Jun)....we are also headed back to Georgian Bay (not sure what part). We spent four days paddling around the French River Delta last summer and then another four days in the Philip Edward Island area (we set up camp in Desjardins Bay and then paddled all around every day for 4 days). It is an absolutely amazing to place to paddle!
Have a great summer!
