Swag fun and Junior Musher Video Contest Launch

Next week is my first book signing event. I'll be at the Marmora SnoFest and sled dog races.

I'm sure it will be loads of fun, but I have to admit, I'm nervous. What if no one buys a book? What if I say something brilliantly inappropriate? What if the ink blobs in the pen and messes up someone's copy?

My man surprised me with these little cuties to help out. What could go wrong that a blue-eyed, stuffed husky can't fix?

DOGSLED DREAMS JUNIOR MUSHER VIDEO CONTEST

I'd also like to announce that the JUNIOR MUSHER VIDEO CONTEST is up and running at the DOGSLED DREAMS website.

Contestants are invited to submit videos of their own 'dogsled dreams'.

I'll be posting the videos here, on the facebook page, and on the website. So exciting! Hope we get to see lots of awesome junior mushers with their gorgeous dogs!

You will get to vote for the winner in April!

Those are the cutest plush Huskies! I expect you to be very popular.
One of the worries you can take care of beforehand. Bring several pens and test them all out first. No need to fret about that!
All my best wishes for a fun first booksigning.
I can't wait to see the videos, too.

Yay! How exciting, Terry. Don't worry. Your book is destined to become a school favorite - the next Julie of the Wolves! I know it. My department head agreed to buy a class set for our high school!!! :-)

Congratulations on your book signing. I, too, think you will sell out of your books. I did my Writing Wednesday post today on my blog, I hope you and your readers can visit and help me get it right. I am so happy for you Terry, just take a deep breath and smile, you will do great.

A signing! Hurray! You'll be awesome! Especially with those amazing goodies.

As far as ink blobs go: I signed a copy of Dog Gone in paper not that long ago with a huge sharpie that bled through the cover. Oops! I gave a fresh copy of DG (my own, that I brought along) for the teacher I was signing for and gave the sharpie-mauled book as a spontaneous give-away thing. It all worked out--things usually do. So, no worries. Just have FUN! And maybe bring your own, extra copies of Dogsled Dreams--cause you never know.

Great swag! Those puppies are so cute! Congrats! The signing will be fabulous - and I'd love it if an author had a bunch of ink blobs when they signed my book - it would make it so unique and fun! Can't wait to see the videos. Wish I was close enough to go to the SnoFest.

Enjoy the success!
