What does one do while waiting on their book cover? Why, practice making their trailer, of course!
Here's what I've come up with using two FREE services. Animoto for the trailer and Wix for making the widget.
Scroll through the menu bars and check out the trailer. I'd love to hear your reviews!

It's fun to tinker around with those isn't it.
I look forward to the book and reading it to my kids.
wow so cool!! i just discovered animoto yesterday :D such an awesome movie-maker-majigger!
hehe
best of luck with your writing!!!
I love the trailer =) And wild beavers? Is it weird that I used to have a stuffed one as child and LOVED IT. So I have this cute image in my head? ha.
What a fantastic trailer, Terry! It makes me want to read the book (again), and I'm sure it'll do the same for young readers who see it. Good work!
Nice trailer, Terry Lynn! :)
I love the trailer! I'm a dog lover, so that's right up my alley. And great music, too - really gets you moving.
Thanks for following my blog! I'm already a follower on yours (that's me right about in the middle with the Golden Retriever - told you, dog lover!) I followed yours because I enjoy reading the thoughtful comments you leave on other blogs, and I really loved the great critiques you gave on Sharon Mayhew's First Five Lines contest - some of which were for my pieces - thank you!
Cool trailer! Cute dogs. IDK about the music, but I can't wait to read the book!
Love your blog Terry! Keep seeing you all over the place.
The photography and concept are superb....but....don't hit me....I listened to the trailer a few times and for me, the music is too 'urban.' I couldn't really make the connection between the outdoors and melody/rhythm.
I will certainly buy your book though!
Thanks for the fabulous visions. I'm an animal lover and outdoor freak, too...or maybe just freak!!
This is awesome!
Thanks for all the great feedback.
Sara - one day my dog team and I surprised a beaver on the ice. He felt like he was cornered I guess, which led him to attack, which led to a scene in my book! But, mostly beavers are pretty cute!
Susan - thanks so much for your kind words!
Ann Marie - this is the feedback I was asking for. Thank you. I chose the music to be upbeat - it's a contemporary story and the mc is always singing contemporary songs. But I'll take another look at the music selection.
Wow, I am impressed! Oh, and those doggies--adorable!!!
Wow neato!!! Love the trailer!
What cute doggies. The wild beavers jumped out at me. In an interesting way. I've never given much thought to beavers, but I'm sure a close encounter would be enough to scare me.
WHOA! That is seriously cool!
Holy hannah,
Who'd a thunk when I met Terry as a 'younger' woman in Quetico (and you said I was as old as your mom), that you had all this creativity in you?! Wowsers!!
In the '80's I read a story called Balto to my kids...do you know it? So add your name to awesome authors. Go girl :)
Janice
Fun trailer - I love it! My son and I are both dying to read the book. Hurry up, would ya?! :-)
Well done! It was upbeat and jazzy .. very fun stuff.
Love the trailer - really great photos :)
Even though you were just playing with it, it builds excitement for me! I'm really looking forward to your book. Will you have autographed copies on hand that we can buy from you?
I totally thought I was already following you, and I'm not! Weird. I hate it when that happens. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. What a cool trailer!
Very cool Terry Lynn - can't wait to read your book.
Cute trailer! I think it could be longer with a few more sentences of hooky storyline!
Cool trailer, and I love the sparkling dogs on the front page.
I love it. My only complaint is that I would make it a little bit longer. Can't have too much of a good thing. . . right? Thanks for the links to those sites, hope I get to use them some day.
Oh I just LOVE this. All sparkly and fun.
This is cool. Something I will bookmark for my "one day when I'm published" moment. I agree, it could be longer. But I'm not a fan of the music. The pictures and music are upbeat but your "hook" seems serious so I'm not sure if they work together. Maybe slow down the pace of the pictures and music?
Fun stuff. Thanks for sharing.
